Jay Braaks – Sophmore Mixtape – A Proud Outcast – Now Released
Jay “IDOL” Braaks is a Westland Michigan born, Windsor Ontario raised hip hop artist. He Began rapping at the young age of 12, being highly influenced by artists like Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac, and Biggie. At this time, Braaks only freestyled and used rap as an alternate to writing journals, explaining his everyday life through writing short verses. In his highschool years, Jay found himself writing full songs, performing at small venues and battle rapping on a regular basis.
With dreams of becoming a rap superstar, and music now being his full time focus, Jay released his first mixtape entitled “Braakin N Entry” in the spring of 2007 which received rave reviews locally and throughout many parts of the country. Off the success from the mixtape, Jay performed at countless events, ranging from parties to clubs and high schools. Building his resume, he spent the next couple of years concentrating on releasing an unbounded amount of songs to the internet, performing non-stop and ghostwriting for R&B and hip hop artists, dedicated to keep a steady buzz growing.
In April 2010, with a huge buzz, a solid fanbase, great anticipation, and a deep arsenal of music, Braaks released his second mixtape titled “Tha Addiction” available for free download at http://www.datpiff.com/mixtapes-search.php?criteria=jay+braaks&x=13&y=13 which has been now glorified as being a certified “classic mixtape” from many listeners nationwide and blog sites. During The summer of 2010, Jay released his first music video titled “Distant” from his mixtape “Tha Addiction” to the internet an people immediately went in a frenzy and demanded to see more and more of Jay’s work.
Continuing his hard work and dedication, Braaks has now released numerous amounts of videos that have been featured on all sorts of blog sites including http://www.hiphopcanada.com and has been keeping his following growing with his unmatched work ethic and consistency of high quality music.
Now, in spring 2011, the bar is set extremely high from Jay’s past work as he sets to release his most anticipated mixtape to date “A Proud Outcast” in May which promises something extraordinary and nothing short of everlasting to say the least.
