As the stars come out for TIFF, SUITS® will transform into the SUITS® Discovery Lounge, sponsored by Belvedere Vodka and Moët & Chandon Champagne. Brett Kingswell

With the grit of a 90’s grunge front man and the charm of a southern gentleman, Brett Kingswell’s unique brand of northern roots, swampy rockin’ country is turning heads, perking ears and stomping feet in its wake.

The life of this razor sharp rock and roll vagabond began in small town Port Elgin, Ontario. After picking up a guitar for the first time at the age of 23, the path ofmusic became natural for this unsuspecting artist, prolific singer/songwriter, and magnetic performer.

As a firefighter currently residing in Uxbridge, Ontario, Brett is heading down the path of a country music artist. This Canadian super talent has rocked stages across the continent, having shared the spotlight with such revered acts as Deric Ruttan, Dallas Smith, Bobby Wills, Lindsay Broughton and, I Mother Earth, and David Wilcox. I

Quickly gaining momentum in becoming an All-Canadian country music star, Brett has been featured on the front page of the CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association) website and as the artist of the month in the CMAO (Canadian Country Music Association of Ontario) September 2013 newsletter.

Ammoye

Ammoye’s name is inspired by the Italian word for love. That’s what goes into her music, and it’s how audiences respond to her wherever she goes. Rooted in the reggae music of her native Jamaica . The 2013 Canadian Juno Awards Has Nominated “Radio” her Debut Single for “Best Reggae Recording” .Ammoye effortlessly glides from reggae to dancehall and dub, to gospel and soul, to hiphop and R&B, with breathtaking ease and presence. Her phenomenal new single and video, “Radio”, are currently taking over the airwaves and social media, having already charted in the U.K. on Galaxy Gold Radio.

Meagan Rose

Meagan Rose is a 19 year old Jazz and R&B artist, with expressive vocals, original guitar styling’s and dynamic stage presence, that has been captivating audiences around the GTA area for many years.
Meagan’s captivating voice characterizes a velvet tone, startling clarity and a unique phrasing where you can always hear her impeccable feel for the music. With her outstanding vocal stylings on timeless standards made famous by Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington to more modern and contemporary pieces by Justin Timberlake, Meagan is able to engage any crowd and get them on their feet to dance to the music.

Gyles

Gyles’ vocals are behind the hook of Juno and Much Music Award winner Carlos Morgan’s “Baby c’mon”, featured on Groove Essentials Volume 1. Soon after, she provided background vocals for Juno award winner Jully Black and Juno nominee Camille Douglas. Having been noticed quickly for a singing style bathed with sparkly tenacity, Gyles was brought on board as lead vocalist for Toronto neo-soul band Jamesking. Two of her songs have been awarded second place at the 2008 and 2010 Radio Star National Songwriter’s Competition. One of which, has been featured in the major motion picture: Shark City – starring Vivica A. Fox. Her live performances have garnered her headlining honors for the 2008 Montreal Funk Festival and opening in 2009 for Ivana Santilli during Canadian Music Week.

Joshua Lopez

Joshua Jlatte Lopez is a 25 year old guitarist, vocalist and songwriter from the city of Toronto. Influenced by the the greats of the blues guitar and the sounds of r&b and jazz, Jlatte’s repertoire includes his own compositions as well as his own interpretations of tunes ranging from much loved standards all the way to the more obscure, taking a foundational yet freeform approach with an emphasis on opportunity for musical expression through spontaneous improvisation.

Sheldon Holder

Singer Songwriter Sheldon Holder’s eclectic brand of music fuses elements of Calypso, Jazz, Reggae, and Rock, and is quickly becoming a sound to be reckoned with in the Toronto music scene.
With a successful album, critical acclaim on BBC radio, an award winning video for his song Prosper, and local and international performances under his belt, Sheldon made a bold move and came back to Canada after living in Trinidad since the age of eight.
Sheldon`s music has been a driving force in the Caribbean`s underground music scene for more than a decade. He has also been highlighted in many mainstream events such as Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica, The Tobago International Jazz Festival, and he was in Toronto in 2009 as part of Canadian Music Week opening for the Dirty Heads as well as Mishka

Alessia Rio

A down to earth 20 year old girl from Toronto, Ontario ,Canada. Alessia began her musical journey at an early age. She created a jazz quartet with fellow classmates in which they performed at events all around the Toronto. Alessia Performed jazz classics, but she always felt that shei had to add her own take on them and make them a little more interesting. Her favorite thing is walking onto the stage, after being called, and staring back and witnessing all the people in the audience. “An artist has to sing a song with soul and passion and be able to connect with the listeners.” Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Amy Whinehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae, Lady Gaga, and Adele, Alessia is currently working on her self titled EP. “My goal is not to be famous, but to be great.”

Aria Zenua

The highly driven and talented singer songwriter Aria Zenua (more commonly known as simply Aria) exudes her fearless nature on stage sharing sounds of Ska, Reggae, Soul and Acoustic tones. Born and raised in Toronto, Aria’s fused genre less sound came from being raised by her Jamaican mother who loved Country music and a Scottish father who listened to everything from Mento to Blues Rock to Brit pop it is no wonder she cannot stay in one box or any for that matter.

Joey Corsino

Joey Corsino born in 1996 is a Toronto based singer/songwriter. He has been performing since the age of 7 and started playing guitar at the age of 14. Joey specializes in pop music.

Chelsea Stewart

Like a cold glass of lemonade on a hot day, her voice is refreshingly cool, and definitely on the sweet side. An alumni of the Regional Arts Program at Mayfield Secondary School, Chelsea Stewart is currently enrolled in The Jazz Program at Humber College. She’s sang for and shared the stage with two legends in their respective genres, Stevie Wonder and Bobbie Mcferrin. This multi talented singer songwriter is classically trained and claims not just one genre of music as her own.

From classical to jazz and everything in between, Chelsea Stewart takes you on a musical journey visiting the eras of Billie Holliday, Donny Hathaway , Bob Marley, and Maria Carey. This young vocalist possesses a voice that moves you. Captivated, you willingly go where she takes you. Chelsea has been an opening act for various artists, like reggae super star Beenie Man, and R&B artist Mario.

Dylan Lock

Dylan Lock is a singer/songwriter whom discovered a passion for music at a young age and was Instinctively drawn to the sound of the piano. Then soon after he became a multi-instrumentalist. Through years of experience, practice, and dedication he has grown to inspire many. With icons such as Queen, Burton Cummings, Bob Seger, Beatles and many other classic rock artists. It has driven him to develop a great reputation. Dylan describes his music as a combination of blues/rock/ with an original touch. Currently recording an album, he looks forward to sharing and expressing the same

Augusta Canopoli

Augusta started with a focus on classical music but the heart wants what it wants. Country music captured her heart hard and fast and simply wouldn’t let go. “It’s the stories, the pure melodies, the real life, down to earth feel of the sound that I love. It just feels like me” she says, “and it’s a great genre for girls to speak their minds. There are so many amazing women in country”. Some of Augusta’s musical influences are Shania Twain, Leann Rimes, Patsy Cline & Reba McIntyre. “Hey, I’m inspired by boys too. They make great subjects for songs,” she laughs.
Augusta has been very focused on live performance in the last two years. She has played including recent shows at Hugh’s Room in Toronto, Honey Jam 2013 at the Mod Club, Richard’s Café and The Commodore Grill in Nashville with stops in Kingston, Ottawa, Lindsay and as part of the Texaco Country Showdown in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This fall she is headed back to Nashville to play and write new material: “Writing songs is a huge part of my life. At my age it’s the only way to tell stories that really represent how I’m feeling and what I’m going through.”

Daniella Waters

Daniella Watters started singing lessons at the age of 7, recorded her first song at 11, and joined her first band at age 12. She has been immersed in dance, music, acting, and theatre her whole life. Daniella is currently writing and recording her first solo album to be released by the end of 2013. The album has influences of R&B, pop, jazz, soul, and funk combining her love of multiple genres into one cohesive piece of art. Daniella is blessed to have the opportunity to play regularly around the GTA with many different bands and is looking forward to sharing her hard work with the world once her album is released. Her goals are to be able to create and perform music everyday and achieve a career with longevity in the music industry.

Szafrelle

Toronto based singer songwriter Szafrelle has stepped out of the shadows and has been making her presence known in music circles across this city and country. No stranger to Toronto’s music scene, the versatile artist has worked with the music industry’s top producing talent including Juno Award winning producers Ron Lopata and Justin Abedin (Jacksoul) as well as Ron Allen, Peter Prilesnik (Sara Harmer, Sara Slean), Malik Worthy (Esthero) and Toni Rabolo (Joy Drop). You may have heard her songs most recently on Levi’s or Gap commercials. She has written for numerous Canadian artists including songs for up and coming R&B singer Linda Luztono’s debut

Christian Bridges

Through creative expression, Bridges found a sort of inner freedom he’s since continued to pursue, and strived to perpetuate, as a spiritually uplifting singer-songwriter in the Toronto arts scene merging musicianship with social activism. “I want to be real and organic giving a place of comfort openness and happiness through my music,” says Christian. “Music saved my life so I feel like I owe it to myself and owe it to other people to keep it real.”

Sacha Williamson

Sacha Williamson is a highly accomplished Toronto singer/songwriter and educator who crosses all soulful music genres. Moving from classic soul and R&B to urban jazz and electronica , this effervescent songstress creates an expansive repertoire that conveys the spirit of such music legends as Nina Simone, Carmen McCrae, Doug & Jean Carne, Lizz Wright, and Jill Scott while remaining authentically all her own.
Through her use of lush harmonies, strong melodic hooks and lyrical analogies, Sacha transports listeners into a realm of higher consciousness where hope and infinite possibilities prevail. Whether staging her own productions or collaborating with other like-minded artists, she exudes sincerity, creativity and spiritual light. Indeed, for Sacha, music is not only a vehicle of expression; but, equally, a way of life.

Sacha’s work with – to name just a few – world renowned house producer Nick Holder (DNH Records), classic New York DJ/producer/remixer Mr. V (Sole Channel Music), broken beat pioneer IG Culture (New Sector Movements), Swedish producer extraordinaire Opolopo (AMALIA’s partner) and Toronto house legend Gene King (Vibes N’ Vinyl , Shines Records) has garnered Sacha tremendous respect on today’s creative soul scene.

This captivating vocalist has performed in numerous venues across Toronto and the U.S., including the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Massey Hall, Koerner Hall, the Mod Club, Hugh’s Room, the House of Blues (Dallas, Texas), and the Hard Rock Café (Orlando, Florida). Meet Bahamian born – Canadian songbird Sara London. Formerly known as Sara Green, this upcoming singer/songwriter just released her EP ‘Breaking Hearts’ after a year of writing and recording back and forth in Ontario, Canada and New York City. Taking her career into her own hands and heart with the help of mentor and vocal coach Kenn Hicks and production by Darrel “Wolfgang” Jackson, Dane Hartsell, CNO, Jessie O’Brien and Joel Stouffer of Dragonette; Sara dishes out matters of the heart (and heartache) containing a soulful blues love affair. Keep your eyes and ear out for Sara London as the latest import from Canada making a big splash with an even bigger voice and sound.
